10010059 | Zebra 8000D Near IR Direct Thermal Paper Label

Zebra 8000D Near IR is a white, smooth, topcoated direct thermal paper label with a 0.8 mil all-temp permanent acrylic adhesive on a 40 lb. semi-bleached kraft liner. Printed barcodes scan in both visible and near-IR wavelengths. Zebra states that the Near IR facestock is more durable than standard direct thermal media.

Labels apply down to -20°F (-29°C) and hold from -65°F to 140°F (-54°C to 60°C) once applied. Zebra recommends product identification, shelf labeling, and work-in-process as applications. Choose a different material for outdoor use, for service above 140°F, or for exposure to alcohol, bleach, oil, or solvents, all of which Zebra rates "Not Recommended."

8000D Near IR Features for Product, Shelf, and WIP Labels

  • Dual-wavelength scanning: Barcodes read in both visible and near-IR wavelengths, so one label serves scanners that use either.
  • Near IR facestock: Zebra rates its durability above standard direct thermal media, which helps on labels that are handled repeatedly.
  • Cold application to -20°F: The all-temp adhesive bonds on cold surfaces, including inside coolers and freezers.
  • -65°F to 140°F service range: Applied labels cover frozen storage through warm warehouse conditions.
  • Aggressive bond: On stainless steel, polycarbonate, and polyethylene, Zebra's adhesion tests show the facestock ripping before the adhesive releases.
  • Ribbon-free printing: Direct thermal printing means no ribbon to stock or change.
  • FDA 175.105: Meets requirements for indirect food contact.
