For benchtop printers that load media as a drop-in cartridge, B33-340-797 puts Brady's B-797 polyimide in B33 format: 0.375" x 0.375" glossy white heat resistant labels with a permanent acrylic adhesive, preloaded so there is no core size or roll diameter to match. Brady's technical data sheet for B-797 reports no visible change after 2 hours at 392°F (200°C), and none after a 5-minute exposure at 500°F (260°C).
The B33 version suits operations that label boards and components at a workstation rather than on a high-volume line: engineering builds, rework cells, test benches and lower-volume assembly, where the barcode still has to hold up through the same harsh-condition washes. B33 cartridges do not run in the BradyPrinter S3100 or S3700, which take B30 labels only, and they do not fit 3 in. core roll printers such as the i7100. If your line runs a roll printer, order B-797 in a THT roll part number instead.
Cartridge printers use a separate B30-series ribbon cartridge. Brady ties two of B-797's ratings to the ribbon: the UL 969 Recognized Component listing (UL file MH17154) and the MIL-STD-202G Method 215K solvent result hold only when B-797 is printed with Brady Series R6300 or R6000 Halogen Free. The B30-R6300 ribbon is the B30 cartridge version of R6300, 4.33 in. x 200 ft. Brady also lists R4900A and R8965 alongside R6300 for non-reflow boards that are cleaned in aqueous wash.
The material, adhesive and ratings are identical; the format follows the printer and the volume. B33 cartridges drop into an i3300 or i5300 with nothing to thread or size, which fits benches and cells that switch label sizes often. THT rolls on a 3 in. core run on industrial printers like the i7100, and Brady offers B-797 rolls in quantities up to 20,000 labels for continuous production. A plant can run both on one material: rolls on the line, cartridges at rework and test. Both formats are grouped under high temp polyimide labels.
Brady's product page lists a general service range of -94°F to 212°F (-70°C to 100°C), but its B-797 data sheet goes much further. The first visible change in each test: slight discoloration at 662°F (350°C) after 80 seconds, at 536°F (280°C) after 5 minutes and at 446°F (230°C) after 2 hours. Over 1,000 hours, slight discoloration starts at 248°F (120°C) and turns moderate at 293°F (145°C). In every case Brady reports the label still functional. Brady publishes these as averages, so confirm performance in your own process.
