When to Replace Your Zebra Printhead: The Pause Test Guide
Use the Pause Test as an easy way to help you determine if it’s time for a Zebra printhead replacement. As the Zebra printhead wears out, its heating elements can stop functioning, leading to areas that no longer heat up or print correctly on your labels. This issue often results in lines through barcodes or blank vertical spaces on your barcode labels, which become evident during a pause test label. Unfortunately, once these heating elements fail, they cannot be restored. If the affected area doesn’t impact critical elements of your label, like text or barcodes, you may be able to continue using the printhead temporarily. However, if these blank spaces compromise barcodes or essential information, it’s time to replace your Zebra printhead.
